<p>People spend a lot of money on the creation of their logo and walk away with no artwork files. Then a couple months down the track when they require to put signage on their new building they cannot track the design studio down that created the original logo for them and so incur costs to have it redone. <p><strong>Tip 8<br /></strong>It is important to have a style guide of your logo. It will clearly show you how to use your logo so it looks exactly the same every time it is reproduced. This allows you to keep your corporate image consistent.</p>
<p><strong>Tip 9<br /></strong>Make sure that you get a letter from the design studio declaring that you own the copyright to your logo.</p>

Ever been delighted to see your advert in the latest newspaper and then observed that the crucial tag line is not present or your logo has been wrecked.</p>
<p>There is only one way to stop this from happening and that is to set up a style guide. Not only will a style guide help you steer the reproduction of your logo - it will also help you bolster your brand recognition – which many argue is one of the strongest selling tools.</p>

<p><strong>Step 1</strong> : Mark the audience for your Style Guide. Is this for staff to work in-house or is this for suppliers and contractors to refer to?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The most common question customers ask when acquiring a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: will I get an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, short for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, an acronym for ‘digital light processing’ are the two top projector imaging technologies. With so many different brands and different types available, it can be overwhelming for clients to decide between these technologies. The simple fact of the matter is that LCD projectors provide far better image quality and colour accuracy. The next paragraph tells you why DLP projectors struggle with reproducing the same standard of image quality.</p>
<p>Imagine a set of blinds in your household on your bedroom window. By a twist of a rod you can have the shutters open or closed, depending on if you want to let light in or not. And that is exactly how an LCD projector operates. Each pixel operates like a unique shutter on a set of blinds to either allow light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is constructed of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as experts like to call them. Each pixel element works to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from when the projector is switched on to when the content reaches your screen is extremely significant to image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors process white light from the lamp by splitting it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which project the coloured light to 3 individual LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels create the elements of the image by shining each pixel on and off. The pixels are then projected in a glass prism to form the projector image. A significant point to know about LCD projectors is that all three colours are projected onto your projector screen simultaneously. The way a DLP projector works is totally different and even how an image appears is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is sent through a rotating colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This method of forming an image forms a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors as mentioned above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to construct the image elements. The elements of the image are sent in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s vision will then put together each coloured element of the image into a whole image. From LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to offer top brightness and fantastic colour accuracy. In DLP, just one colour is available at once, and so resulting in lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some DLP manufacturers have added a white segment in the colour wheel to improve overall brightness, but this then detracts from colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I hear in forums all the time that DLP offers a higher contrast ratio and therefore must be superior quality. For those unsure, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the system is capable of. DLP projectors do offer high contrast specifications compared to many LCD projectors. At a glance, this must be an advantage, however, in truth, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room in which the projector is utilised. Do not be duped by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you want to view has moving images, DLP projection technology also has image marks, or ‘artifacts’. The most commonplace artifact that a DLP projector displays with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is to be expected in DLP systems because moving images change between the time red, blue and green colours are displayed. LCD projectors do not have this characteristic because all the colours are projected at once. DLP builders have formed 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to fix the colour break up error, but the cost of these projectors make them not practical for the large part of businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another differentiation between LCD and DLP is how they compensate for the refractive qualities of light. Jump back to high school science, and recall when they taught you how different colours of light refract various amounts when directed through the same lens. The problem with DLP projectors is that they have the one same panel with the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are obviously not the same and refract light in a different way. Often with a DLP projector, a spill of yellow colour will show above and some blue will be projected below an image containing something as simple as a straight black line. During manufacturing LCD projectors can be set to remove these effects on the projected image, because each colour is refracted on isolated LCD panels.</p>
<p>The sole true plus (excluding price) with choosing a DLP projector is its smaller total size and weight. However, this is only relevant to transporting the device and needs to be traded off against the image advantages of LCD projectors. If the outcome of the picture quality is important to you, then the choice is easy. Go with an LCD projector! LCD projectors will definitely make bright, colourful images with fewer image errors. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch found dominance in sea power during the 17th century, the initial yacht had been a leisure craft used initially by royalty and then by the burghers on the canals and then in the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing yachts was incidental, arising as private challenges. English yachting originated with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his return to the English monarchy in 1660, the city of Amsterdam presented him with a 20-metre (66-foot) leisure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he called Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, ruled 1685–88), ordered for other yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and the same way back, on a Â£100 bet. Yachting became fashionable for the wealthy and aristocracy, but after that period the trend did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht association in the British Isles, the Water Club, was started around about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard organization, with much naval panoply and rigour. The closest thing to a race was the “chase,” when the “fleet” pursued an imagined enemy. The club endured, mostly as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, by conglomerating with other groups, it was known as the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing was seen in some stipulated fashion on the Thames about the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland instigated the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV ascended to the throne in 1820, it was then called the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded with a racing argument, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht society had been started at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal patronage made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the continued setting of British yacht racing. The association at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, also at the accession of George IV. All members were required to own boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing races for large stakes were held, and the social life was lovely. It came to be that the Royal Yachting Club boats were raised in size to more than 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting was first accomplished with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and persisted when the English took control. Sailing was largely for fun and rose to its epitome in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which sailed on the Mediterranean Sea and established a minimum of luxury and elegance for the later yachts in that area from the late 19th century. The first continuing American yacht club, the Detroit Boat Club, was instigated in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens began the New York Yacht Club aboard his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>Early sailing yachts followed the lines of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century until the second half of the 19th century. The craft of bigger yachts was originally largely affected by the success of America, which was drawn by George Steers for a syndicate led by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) was named after its success at Cowes in 1851. Earlier yachts were not designed and built in a contemporary sense, with merely a model being used. Not until the second half of the 19th century did what was labeled naval architecture come about. Not until the 1920s did the employment of the science of aerodynamics do for the craft of sails and rigging what science had previously done for hulls.</p>
<p>Because nearly all sailboats had to be individually built, there came a requirement for handicapping boats as this was before the one-design class boats were designed. Thus, a rating rule was written, which ended up in the International Rule, adopted in 1906 and amended in 1919. In the present day, one of the most rapidly growing areas in the field of sailing is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are built to standard requirements in length, beam, sail area, and other areas (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing for such boats can be had on an even keel with no handicapping necessary. A prime example is the generic International America&#8217;s Cup Class taken on for participants in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>As long as yachting belonged mostly for the nobility and the rich, expense was no issue, and the size of boats grew, in both length and weight. The rise and desire of smaller boats occurred in the latter half of the 19th century out of the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A trip around the world (1895–98) captained single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray demonstrated the value of small yachts. Thereafter in the 20th century, particularly after World War II, smaller racing and leisure craft became more popular, down to the dinghy, a preferred training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, boats of less than 3 m were sailed single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>After the decade 1840–50, when steam began to emulate sail power in commercial craft, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were increasingly employed in personal vessels. Bigger power yachts were progressed to a high standard, and long-distance travel turned into a favoured occupation of the affluent. The earliest power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; those then gave rise to those powered by the wholly submerged screw or propeller kind of propulsion. Like naval and merchant craft, auxiliaries carrying both sail and power were the yacht fashion for a number of years. By the later half of the 20th century, a lot of yachts were still auxiliaries, but the majority were only power yachts that had gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>During the last decade of the 19th century there was a push in the construction of large steam yachts. Conspicuous among these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, that had triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was sailed by a crew of over 150. The Mayflower, commissioned by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and saw active service during World War II.</p>
<p>As larger and more dependable internal-combustion engines were developed, many bigger craft were using them for power. The development of the diesel engine, employing heavy oil for fuel, was furthered during World War I. During the decade that followed, large power-yacht building grew, hitting a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. During that time the best auxiliary yacht manufactured was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The building of bigger power boats declined after 1932, and the trend thereafter was in preference of smaller, less pricey boats. From World War II, a lot of small naval craft were traded by private owners for conversion to yachts. At the late 20th century, yachting has become a globally beloved competition enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen personally sailing and keeping their own small recreational boats. The number of boats and owners is increasing steadily, not only in the traditional places along the seacoasts but also on inland waterways and lakes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Taxes are differentiated by the impact they have on the allocation of income and wealth. A proportional tax is the kind that places the same relative onus on all the taxpayers—i.e., in the case where tax liability and income move in the same levels. A progressive tax is characterized by a higher than proportional rise in the tax burden in relation to the growth in income, and a regressive tax is characterized by a less than proportional increase in the comparable liability. Thus, progressive taxes are seen as fighting a lack of equality in income distribution, whereas regressive taxes are seen to result in an increase these inequalities.</p>
<p>The taxes that are often considered progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are categorically progressive, however, might become less so in the upper-income class—particularly if a taxpayer is able to reduce his tax base by nominating deductions or by excluding certain income aspects from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates that are applied to lower-income classes can also be more progressive if such exemptions of a personal nature are declared.</p>
<p>Income measured over the course of a given period may not absolutely offer the most appropriate measure of taxpaying ability. For example, transitory rises in income might be saved, and in temporary declines in income a taxpayer may choose to finance consumption by decreasing savings. Ergo, if taxation is held in comparison with “permanent income,” it will be less regressive (or more progressive) than when it is held in comparison with annual income.</p>
<p>Sales taxes and excises (save luxuries) are generally regressive, because the dissemination of personal income consumed or spent on a specific good lowers as the rate of personal income is raised. Poll taxes (also termed head taxes), levied as a flat amount per capita, clearly are regressive.</p>
<p>It is not simple to determine corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, because of the lack of certainty regarding the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). This difficulty of deciding who bears the tax burden depends essentially on whether a national or a subnational (that is, provincial or state) tax is being determined.</p>
<p>In considering the economic effects of taxation, it is essential to differentiate between varied concepts of tax rates. The statutory rates will be nominated in legislature; often these are marginal rates, but sometimes they are mean rates. Marginal income tax rates note the fraction of incremental income that is taken by taxation when income rises by one dollar. So, if tax liability rises by 45 cents when income rises by one dollar, the marginal tax rate is 45 percent. Income tax legislature generally contain graduated marginal rates—i.e., rates that rise as income increases. Careful analysis of marginal tax rates need to consider provisions other than the formal statutory rate structure. If, for example, a particular tax credit (reduction in tax) reduces by 20 cents for each one-dollar rise in income, the marginal rate is 20 percentage points greater than nominated in the statutory rates. Since marginal rates display how after-tax income increases or decreases in response to changes in before-tax income, they are the important ones for assessing incentive effects of taxation. It is even more complicated to realise the marginal effective tax rate applied to income from business and capital, because it may be dependant on factors including the structure of depreciation allowances, the deductibility of interest, and the provisions for inflation adjustment. A basic economic theorem grants that the marginal effective tax rate in income from capital is nil under a consumption-based tax.</p>
<p>Average income tax rates display the part of total income that is paid in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is relevant for judging the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate rises with income. Average income tax rates generally increase with income, both because personal allowances are permitted for the taxpayer and dependents and due to that marginal tax rates are graduated; conversely, preferential treatment of income received for the most part by high-income households could dampen these effects, allowing regressivity, as signified by average tax rates that decrease as income increases.</p>
